In 2004, James partnered with Cruz Martinez and was a contributing music arranger on a Latin Grammy Award-winning album called "Cuando El Corazon Se Cruza," by famed Mexican singer Alicia Villarreal. In 2005, James earned his first Latin Grammy.
Don't Wanna Try" not only debuted on the Hot 100 Singles sales chart at #10 but also the Spanish version of this smash hit song "Ya no es Igual" was nominated in April of 2004 for Latin Pop Airplay Track of the Year at the Latin Billboard Music Awards. Also, this song earned James a BMI Award in April of 2005.
In 2005,"Don't Wanna Try" was rereleased on Frankie J's album "The One" with Columbia Records, which sold over 1 million units world wide. Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awarded Frankie J and James Galvez with a Platinum Record Plaque acknowledging Platinum success.
