James Galvez

EARLY ON
Jaime (James) Galvez was born in San Diego, California. At age 3, James was diagnosed with a life threatening illness (hydrocephalus). After a few major surgeries, doctors (at the time) stated that James' future was very uncertain and the chances of a normal development or survival with this illness was very uncommon. However, James at a very young age was aware of his illness and was determined to beat it without allowing it to bring him down.

In an effort to keep his spirits up, James' mother and father (19 at the time) took him to Disneyland to ride Small World. The theme song to "Small World" played multiple times during the ride in different languages. James memorized the theme song and upon arriving home that night, James immediately began playing the song on his toy piano as if he'd been practicing it for months; it was clear that James was able to play the piano by ear at age 3. From that point forward, James started to develop absolute pitch and continued playing other songs on the piano by ear. As a toddler, James already knew that music was not only going to be his passion and career, but also his calling. Moreover, James' illness miraculously went away and he has been cured ever since.

At age 13, James composed and produced an original jingle for Sea World. By high school, James wrote and produced several songs on a Music Tech CD that received favorable reviews. In addition, he toured and performed live with his high schools' Music Tech Ensemble, directed by Dennis Mauricio throughout Southern California. They performed at theme parks such as Sea World, Disneyland, and Six Flags Magic Mountain.

MOVING ONTO TV AND RADIO
At age 17 James composed and produced the main theme for KVIA channel 7's morning show, "Good Morning El Paso" and "Eyewitness News" in El Paso, Texas. Also, he composed and produced promotional music segments for Pepsi Cola and Motorola. In addition, he composed and produced various jingles for Jammin' Z90.3, the #1 hip hop and R&B radio station in San Diego, California.

MOVING ONTO SOUND AND CONTENT DEVELOPMENT
In early 2002 James partnered with M-Audio/Avid, the leading provider of digital audio and MIDI solutions to produce Sample CD Loops for their Pro Sessions library. In August of 2002, he produced Latin Street and Latin Element. Both were released for worldwide distribution in August of 2003.

MOVING ONTO RECORD PRODUCTION
With his sights always set on starting his own business, in 2003 James officially launched Logictone Music, Inc. Prior to that, James had been collaborating with his longtime friend Frankie J., former member of A.B. Quintanilla y los Kumbia Kings, the Latin group nominated for Best Latin Artist at the 2003 American Music Awards. One of James’s music arrangements, “Te Di,” appears on the “Shh” album, while “You Can Count on Me” and “Don’t Wanna Try” appear on their “4” album.

When Frankie J. signed a record deal with Columbia Records in 2003, he asked James to co-produce and arrange his solo debut album, “What’s A Man to Do,” which was also released in Spanish. This lead James to sign a non-exclusive contract with Sony Music to produce other Sony artists.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
In 2004, James partnered with Cruz Martinez and was a contributing music arranger on a Latin Grammy Award-winning album called "Cuando El Corazon Se Cruza," by famed Mexican singer Alicia Villarreal. In 2005, James earned his first Latin Grammy.

In April of 2004 "Don't Wanna Try" not only debuted on the Hot 100 Singles sales chart at #10 with a bullet but also the Spanish version of this smash hit song "Ya no es Igual" was nominated for Latin Pop Airplay Track of the Year at the Latin Billboard Music Awards. Also, this song earned James a BMI Award in April of 2005.

In 2005,"Don't Wanna Try" was re-released on Frankie J's album "The One" with Columbia Records, which sold over 1 million units world wide. Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awarded Frankie J and James Galvez with a Platinum Record Plaque acknowledging Platinum success.

AT THE MOMENT
James continues to partner with Venevision International as a songwriter, composer, and producer. James is also continuously working on new material. In Summer of 2017, James Galvez will unleash a new product line of modern Latin-based construction kits, loops, and sounds. As a music producer, composer, and arranger in today's music industry, James understands that when it comes to inspiration and creativity, sounds mean everything. This massive collection of modern Latin beats and loops are specifically designed with the music producer and composer in mind. With James' Latin signature sound, the pulse-driven, pounding beats contained in these construction kits will make your head nod and make you wanna move to the groove. This arsenal of hit making loops and sounds is influenced by some of today's hottest recording artists and music producers, such as: Frankie J, Pit Bull, Usher, Rihanna, RedOne, Daddy Yankee, Will.i.am, and many more.

In addition, James is currently working on two personal albums titled "Keys of Evolution" and "Reflections of Christmas". During production, James will most likely initiate another project before completing his current ones. However, this is nothing new for James and he welcomes the exciting challenge. Working continuously is what inspires and propels him forward. James feels very blessed and fortunate to have the gift of playing the keys, creating sounds, and making music. Not everyone has this gift and it's a gift he doesn't intend letting go to waste.
